Vicky -Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video opened with a decent collection of ₹5 crore net in India on its first day, beating Jigra, which earned ₹4.25 crore on the same day. However, since Vicky – Vidya Ka Woh Wala video had a wider release and more screens, the makers might view this “victory” cautiously.
The film had a slow start with 17% occupancy across India on day one, according to Sacnilk. However, this number increased to 32% for night shows, showing potential for the weekend. The outlook is positive with the first Saturday falling on the Dussehra holiday. Gulshan Kumar, T-Series, Balaji Telefilms, Wakaoo Films, and Kathavachak Films have backed the project. It is scheduled to release on October 11.
Saibal Chatterjee rated the film 1 out of 5 stars, saying it offers nothing that the trailer promised. He noted that, like the characters struggling with the missing CD, the film just goes in circles. He mentioned that it takes an overly long time—more than two and a half hours—to free the couple and the audience from their misery.

In terms of occupancy, Jigra recorded an overall rate of 20.13%, while the other film had 17.18%, with most of its audience attending night shows. Both films are performing closely, creating a competitive atmosphere for the weekend.
