Diwase ordered to close all educational institutions around 11 pm on Wednesday. After the order, most schools sent messages on WhatsApp groups, but many parents received the notice too late. Some schools that were holding exams continued with normal sessions, while others told parents not to send their children to class.

Akankasha Rawat, the founder of Corner Stone School in Baner, said, “Late-night orders create a logistical nightmare the next day. We have to inform parents and staff and coordinate everything, especially when we offer daycare. With the school closed, support staff can’t come, but parents using daycare still have to go to work, making it confusing and inconvenient for them.”

45-Year-Old Woman Dies After Falling Into Drain in Heavy Rain in Mumbai

Mumbai Rain Live Update: A 45-year-old woman drowned in an overflowing nullah due to heavy rain in suburban Andheri on Wednesday, police said. The incident happened around 9:20 pm near gate no. 8 of MIDC, Andheri East. The victim was identified as Vimal Anil Gaikwad.

Local police and the fire brigade were alerted, and they took the woman to Cooper Hospital, where she was declared dead on arrival. Severe waterlogging and traffic jams were reported in several parts of the city, and a landslide at the Mumbra bypass caused even more disruptions to movement.
