Samajwadi Party also kept the morale of the Bharatiya Janata Party high by winning 37 seats in Uttar Pradesh. Another prominent member of the opposition alliance, the TDM, also won 29 seats in West Bengal, which is more than its 22 seats in 2019. BJP, which won 18 seats in the last Lok Sabha elections, won 12 seats.
The results also showed that the BJP-led NDA did not get the spectacular victory it was expecting, as expressed in the exit poll.
The world’s largest democratic process, held in seven phases from April 19 to June 1, was to count more than 640 million votes.

The BJP managed to avoid defeat by winning Odisha and its ally TDP in Andhra Pradesh, and saving its strongholds in Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh from collapse. It also performed well in Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and maintained its dominance in Bihar along with its ally JD(U).
The failure to secure an absolute majority and the consequent return of coalition politics has dampened the celebrations of Modi’s success in becoming the first prime minister to serve three consecutive terms since Jawaharlal Nehru in 1962. And the BJP’s score of 241 is clearly disappointing even when viewed through the prism of the previous two single party majorities and the target of 400+ that Modi has set for himself. And yet, for a government facing another 10 years in power, this is a commendable performance.

And so that they can not give a third straight term to BJP and NDA.
