By choosing a Thursday release, the producers aim to maximize the film’s potential for a solo opening day.
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 continues the story of Pushpa Raj, the laborer-turned-sandalwood smuggler played by Allu Arjun, from the blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. The sequel, featuring Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, promises a mix of high-octane action, emotional drama, and pan-Indian appeal.
During a recent promotional event in Mumbai, Allu Arjun praised Rashmika Mandanna, who reprises her role as Srivalli, highlighting her importance to the Pushpa franchise. He said, “The Pushpa series is incomplete without Srivalli,” and appreciated her unwavering support and positivity.
Mandanna, on her part, shared that the sequel has a strong emotional narrative alongside the action. “There’s a strong family angle, and it’s going to be a mixture of everything—action, drama, and emotions,” she said. She also mentioned that the film’s set felt like home, and she was both sad and excited as the journey concluded.

Allu Arjun’s highly anticipated film, Pushpa series The Rule, is just four days away from its theatrical release. Bookings have already begun in select regions across India, with a particular focus on the Hindi-speaking areas. The immense buzz surrounding the film is evident, as tickets for the Hindi version are priced over ₹2000 in certain theatres in major cities like Delhi and Mumbai. Despite the steep prices, many of these shows are already nearing a sell-out, highlighting the massive anticipation and excitement surrounding the movie’s release.
Pushpa 2 The Rule’s costliest tickets
Pushpa 2: The Rule is undoubtedly the most awaited Indian film of the year. Following the massive success of its first part in the Hindi-speaking regions, the film’s pan-India appeal is undeniable. As a result, ticket prices in many locations are set at a premium. The PVR Director’s Cut in Delhi leads with tickets for the Hindi 2D version priced at ₹2400. Meanwhile, in Mumbai, the Maison PVR at Jio World Drive is offering tickets at ₹2100. While these theatres are premium ones, where ticket prices tend to be higher, the prices for Pushpa 2 remain significantly steep.
The IMAX and 3D versions of Pushpa 2: The Rule are seeing substantial price hikes. In Delhi’s PVR Select City Walk, recliner seats for an IMAX show on opening night are priced at ₹1860. Similarly, in many theatres across Mumbai, seats in these premium formats range from ₹1500 to ₹1700. Despite these extraordinary prices, the high demand is evident, with most theatres marked as ‘filling fast’ on the BookMyShow ticket booking platform.
Telangana government allows price hike
Booking for Pushpa 2 has not yet fully opened in the Telugu states, the film’s home territory. However, there is good news for fans: the Telangana government has approved a special show for them on the eve of the film’s release. The show will take place on December 4 at 9:30 pm, with ticket prices for this special show set at ₹800. This is a one-time exception, as ticket prices in southern states are typically heavily regulated.
Directed by Sukumar, the Pushpa series Rule is the much-awaited sequel to the 2021 pan-India blockbuster Pushpa: The Rise. The film features Allu Arjun in the lead role as Pushpa Raj, with Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna returning to reprise their roles. Fans are eagerly awaiting the release, which is scheduled for December 5. This sequel promises to continue the gripping story of Pushpa’s rise in the world of sandalwood smuggling.
